<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently generate formic acid as a carbon dioxide-reduced product.SOLUTION: There is provided a formic acid generation apparatus (100) for generating formic acid by reducing carbon dioxide, which comprises: a cathode tank (12) for storing a first electrolyte solution (11) containing carbon dioxide; an anode tank (15) for storing a second electrolyte solution (14); a solid electrolyte membrane (16) sandwiched between the cathode tank and the anode tank; a cathode electrode (13) which is provided in the cathode tank so as to be in contact with the first electrolyte solution and has a gallium oxide region; an anode electrode (17) which is provided in the anode tank so as to be in contact with the second electrolyte solution; and an external power supply (18) for applying a negative voltage and a positive voltage to the cathode electrode and the anode electrode, respectively.</p> |
