1. A method for adjusting one or more images of a sample to correct geometric distortions and/or align the one or more images, the method comprising:
obtaining one or more images of a sample using one or more cameras at fixed position(s) with respect to the sample; obtaining one or more images of a two-dimensional graphical pattern using the same one or more cameras in the same fixed position(s) that were used (or that will be used) to obtain the one or more images of the sample,
wherein the graphical pattern is a lattice comprising dots at vertices that define one or more types of geometric shapes,wherein the lattice of dots is non-periodic (e.g., quasiperiodic),and wherein absolute (e.g., expected) positions of the imaged dots can be determined; and automatically adjusting, by a processor of a computing device, the one or more images of the sample using the one or more images of the two-dimensional graphical pattern to correct geometric distortions and/or to align the one or more images of the sample.
