PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify a system configuration by reducing the number of optical fibers used for connecting optical components for composing a homodyne detection system electromagnetic wave spectrophotometry system, and to precisely measure phase information included in electromagnetic waves through a sample by a homodyne detection system by reducing a drift phenomenon of the phase difference between electromagnetic waves applied to a sample and a reference signal (LO signal).SOLUTION: A polarized beam splitter 4 multiplexes continuous light waves that pass through a first polarizer 2a and are phase-modulated by an optical phase modulator 3a and continuous light waves passing through a second polarizer 2b, and multiplexes the multiplexed light signal to a p-wave component and an s-wave component. A photomixer 5a photoelectrically converts a first light beat signal, namely the p-wave component, to generate electromagnetic waves in mm-wave bands or terahertz-wave bands. A detector 6 receives electromagnetic waves through a measurement target, and performs homodyne mixing of a reference signal in mm-wave bands or terahertz-wave bands obtained by photoelectrically converting a second light beat signal, namely the s-wave component. |
