Disclosed are a method and an apparatus for detecting a traffic sign. The method for recognizing the traffic sign in a car comprises the steps of: preprocessing an image obtained from a camera installed in the car; detecting the sign from the preprocessed image; recognizing information included in the sign based on the information on the detected sign; tracking the sign as the car moves; and determining a final sign for the car based on the tracking result. |
