The device (1) has a portal (3) with arc shaped supports (3a, 3b) arranged parallel to each other and connected with each other. A processing unit (4) is moveably guided at a circular arc guide (5) of the portal in an XY plane. Positioning units are provided at the supports of the portal. The positioning units settle the portal on coupling flanges of a coupling to be processed, and position the portal relative to the coupling flanges. Fastening units fix the settled portal at the coupling. A guide track (5a) of the circular arc guide is formed at each support.
