An adjustable seal apparatus for mounting a mixing apparatus having a movable shaft in sealed engagement with a wall of a vessel and in a selected orientation with respect to the wall of the vessel. The adjustable seal apparatus includes a seal mechanism for creating a gas-tight seal between the shaft of the mixing apparatus and the wall of the vessel and an adjustable mounting mechanism for selectively positioning the shaft in a desired orientation.

1. An adjustable seal apparatus for mounting a drive mechanism having a movable shaft in sealed engagement with a wall of a vessel and in a selected orientation with respect to the wall of the vessel, said adjustable seal apparatus comprising:
an adjustable mounting plate having an aperture, the drive mechanism adapted to be attached to the mounting plate with the shaft of the drive mechanism extending through said aperture of said mounting plate; one or more adjustable mounting apparatus adapted to couple the mounting plate to the wall of the vessel, each said mounting apparatus having an adjustably positionable support member adapted to support the mounting plate in a selected position and in a desired orientation with respect to the wall of the vessel; and a seal member adapted to be coupled in sealing engagement with said mounting plate and adapted to be coupled in sealing engagement with the wall of the vessel, said seal member extending around said aperture of said mounting plate.
