<p>Systems and methods for analog signal processing are provided. The systems generally include a microcontroller having a multiplexer and an analog-to-digital converter, and a signal processing unit coupled to the microcontroller and adapted to process the multiplexer output and to provide a processed analog input to the analog-to-digital converter. The methods generally include selecting an analog input signal from among a plurality of analog input signals, processing the selected analog input signal, and converting the processed analog signal into a digital signal. Processing the analog input signal can include sampling, conditioning, filtering, modifying, differentiating, accumulating and combinations thereof. The systems and methods can perform signal processing that might otherwise be performed in digital logic by a microcontroller core processor, simplifying the design of microcontrollers in instances where microcontrollers sample multiple analog signals of the same general type.</p> |
