PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission method which is high in error correcting capability.SOLUTION: In a transmission method for selecting one encoding system from among a plurality of encoding systems including at least a first encoding system and a second encoding system, and for encoding an information sequence by using the selected encoding system, and for modulating and transmitting the encoded sequence obtained by performing predetermined processing, the first encoding system is an encoding system with a first encoding rate for performing puncture processing to a generated second code word by using a first parity inspection matrix to generate a second encoded sequence, and the second encoding system is an encoding system with a second encoding rate after the puncture processing different from the first encoding rate for performing the puncture processing to the generated second code word by using a second parity inspection matrix different from the first parity inspection matrix to generate the second encoded sequence. Then, the number of bits of the first encoded sequence is equal to the number of bits of the second encoded sequence.
