PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem of a conventional actuator using a piezoelectric element, that when it is used as a general-purpose mechanism element, e.g., a linear actuator or an electric cylinder, the direction of movement of a mobile changes or the position is changed by an external force, because there is no guide in the direction of movement or the restraint is weak.SOLUTION: A general purpose linear actuator, an electric cylinder or a force generation machine having high straight performance is achieved by retaining an output shaft of high rigidity, thermal conductivity and lubricity, consisting of a rectangular parallelepiped having one end attached with a piezoelectric element, for a guide member so as to be limited to 1 degree of freedom. Furthermore, an output member having a mass comparable with that of the piezoelectric element is attached to the other end of the output shaft, thus enhancing the generation force, robustness and usability. |
