PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem in which: in pattern printing, since image data of a print object is printed while composed with pattern image data, the amount of applied toner to be adhered per unit area may exceed the maximum toner applied amount set in advance to an image processing apparatus; in such a case, density correction is constantly performed to print image data in the prior art, and the density correction is performed even when the amount of applied toner does not exceed the maximum toner applied amount, which deteriorates the image quality of a printed matter having a pattern printed thereon.SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus calculates the toner applied amount of print image data and pattern image data to determine whether or not the toner applied amount exceeds the maximum toner applied amount when the pieces of data are combined with each other. When the toner applied amount exceeds the maximum toner applied amount, the image processing apparatus performs toner applied amount control to reduce the toner applied amount of the pattern image data relative to that of the print image data. |
