Abstract The invention relates to apparatus for providing an electrical charge to a device. The apparatus is provided to be located in position with respect to an item, typically an item of furniture and the apparatus includes a portion which is accessible for selective use to provide a charge, a power supply unit and control means for the same and a single power supply cable leading to the power supply unit. The said portion includes at least one socket connected to the power supply unit and adapted to receive a plug therein to allow power to be provided from the socket to a device and at least one wireless charging transmitter connected to the same said power supply unit.
