The present invention relates to an apparatus for preventing heat generation of a connector which connects a power supply device to an electronic device supplied with operation power from the power supply device, wherein the apparatus comprises: a temperature detection unit detecting a temperature of the connector; and a switching unit being switched to stop the operation power being supplied to the electronic device if the temperature of a connector detected by the temperature detection unit is greater than or equal to a predetermined temperature. Accordingly, the heat generation and fire of a connector can be prevented to protect the system.
