<p>Melanin is a pigment present in human skin that can absorb ultraviolet (UV) light and thereby protect the skin from harmful effects of UV rays, such as sunburn and melanoma. Examples of the present disclosure are directed to methods of determining health risks, such as the risk of sunburn and melanoma, based on an estimate of melanin concentration in the skin of a user and a determination of ambient UV light.</p> |
