The invention relates to a battery cell (1), in particular a lithium-ion battery cell (1), comprising a housing (2) and a safety valve (3) having a valve cover (6) for venting the battery cell (1). The safety valve (3) comprises a plurality of weakened material regions (9) that are configured in a wall of the housing (2). The valve cover (6) is formed directly by the housing wall and is not an element that is separate from the housing, wherein the weakened material regions (9) at least partially surround the valve cover (6). The safety valve (3) opens the valve cover (6) and thus the housing wall when a pressure threshold value is exceeded inside the battery (1). The invention further relates to a method for producing a safety valve (3) on a housing (2) of a battery cell (1), to a corresponding battery system and to a motor vehicle comprising a battery cell or a battery system. |
