<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the disorder of an edge and the interruption of a narrow line in the halftone processing of an image. <P>SOLUTION: Image processing of the present invention includes: generating a low-pass filter (LPF) image obtained by filtering an input image (S101); generating a quantization image obtained by quantizing the input image (S102); storing the quantization image in a memory (S103); generating a quantization LPF image obtained by filtering the quantization image stored in the memory (S104); generating a first difference image indicating a difference between the quantization LPF image and the LPF image (S105); generating an update quantization image obtained by updating the pixel value of the quantization image on the basis of the first difference image (S107); generating an update quantization LPF image obtained by filtering the update quantization image (S109); generating a second difference image indicating a difference between the update quantization LPF image and the LPF image (S110); determining whether or not the generation of the update quantization image is repeated based on the two difference images (S113); and outputting the quantization image stored in the memory when it is determined that the repetition is not performed (S115). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p> |
