摘要 The present invention provides an augmented reality image recognition system by using an overlap cut image, the invention comprising: an imaging apparatus capable of efficiently reducing a recognition error due to a similar image by using an overlap cut image recognition structure on a combination of a print material ad a 3D digital content and capable of effectively improving a user′s immersion and learning effect and thereby enabling a video image subject to augmentation to be inputted and outputted; a reference image storage unit for selecting a feature region of an image with regard to a reference image, which is a target for recognition, by an overlap cut method and then dividing thereof to image elements and configuring and storing; an image recognition unit for creating a histogram of an image element from a video image inputted from the imaging apparatus and thereafter determining a similar image, among reference images stored in the reference image storage unit, as a recognition image and for augmenting the recognition image as a video image or a three-dimensional object model wherein the image recognition unit comprises: a first recognition unit for promptly completing a determination as a recognition image if no similar or confusing reference image exists in the process of recognizing a video image; and a second recognition unit executed if there are two or more similar reference images in the process of recognition with regard to video images and for comparing an image element histogram for the video image and an image element information of reference images stored in the reference image storage unit and thereafter, for searching the most similar reference image and completing a determination as a recognition image.
