The present invention relates to an LED assembly and a liquid crystal display device including the same. The LED assembly according to the present invention includes a base layer, a first electrode layer which is formed on the upper side of the base layer, a plurality of LED chip parts which are separately arranged on the upper side of the first electrode layer with a constant interval, an insulation layer which is formed between the LED chip parts, a second electrode layer which is formed on the upper sides of the insulation layer and the LED chip parts, and a phosphor layer which includes a phosphor and is formed on the upper side of the second electrode layer. The LED assembly is applied as a lightweight and thin film type surface light source. Thereby, the thickness of a light guide plate is reduced. |
