1. An emulsified UV curable ink for use in an indirect printing process comprising:
water; a curable monomer; a photoinitiator; and an amide gellant having the formula wherein R1 is: (i) an alkylene group having from 1 to about 20 carbon atoms, (ii) an arylene group having from about 5 to about 20 carbon atoms, (iii) an arylalkylene group having from about 6 to about 32 carbon, or (iv) an alkylarylene group having from about 6 to about 32 carbon atoms; R2 is: (i) alkylene groups having from 1 to about 54 carbon atoms, (ii) arylene groups having from 5 to about 14 carbon atoms in the arylene chain, (iii) arylalkylene groups having from about 6 to about 32 carbon atoms, or (iv) alkylarylene groups having from about 6 to about 32 carbon; R3 is: (i) alkyl groups, (ii) aryl groups, (iii) arylalkyl groups, or (iv) alkylaryl groups; X is an oxygen atom or a group of the formula —NR4—, wherein R4 is: (i) a hydrogen atom, (ii) an alkyl group, (iii) an aryl group, (iv) an arylalkyl group, or (v) an alkylaryl group; and n is from 2 to 20; wherein the ink has a surface tension of from about 18 to about 50 mN/m and a viscosity of from about 2 centipoise to about 20 centipoise at the jetting temperature. |
