In a rotary printing machine having a plate cylinder 7 adapted to carry a rubber printing- plate 16, and an impression cylinder 3 cooperating therewith, the cylinders are connected by gears 7a, 3a, and one of these cylinders carries resilient bearer members which are in rolling engagement with the other cylinder. The plate cylinder is mounted on slidable brackets movable towards and away from the impression cylinder by screws 15. By this means the pressure between the cylinders can be accurately adjusted and the resilient members prevent oscillations of the cylinders towards and away from each other. The resilient members comprise ball-bearings 17 mounted on the impression cylinder shaft 2. Rings 18 of resilient material surround the bearings 17 and a ring 19, e.g. of metal, is mounted on the resilient rings and runs against the corresponding part of the printing-cylinder. In a modification the resilient members are mounted on the printing-cylinder and bear on the surface of the impression cylinder.</p> |
