PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording medium which develops sufficient pearlescence without causing cracks, generates no conspicuous voids due to cracking and peering at folds in an ink receiving layer, and at the same time exhibits excellent ink absorption.SOLUTION: A recording medium comprises, in this order, a substrate, an undercoat layer, and a plurality of ink receiving layers. The undercoat layer includes a pearlescent pigment and a binder. A first ink receiving layer, or an ink receiving layer nearest to the substrate of the plurality of ink receiving layers, comprises inorganic particles, a pearlescent pigment, and a binder. The content of the pearlescent pigment in the first ink receiving layer is less than 1.0 g/m, and the thickness of the first ink receiving layer is less than 0.5 times the total thickness of the plurality of ink receiving layers. |
