PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device of an engine, which while suppressing emission of smoke, can prevent an injection amount from becoming insufficient due to excessive limitation even when the atmospheric pressure varies.SOLUTION: A control device (ECU 50) is the control device of an engine 1, which limits an injection amount by a smoke limit function, and is configured to enable the smoke limit function when the operation state of the engine 1 is determined to be in a transient state and disable the smoke limit function when the operation state of the engine 1 is determined to be in a steady state. The smoke limit function is the function of limiting the injection amount so that an actual excessive air ratio becomes larger than the excessive air ratio set under the standard atmospheric pressure to enable suppression of smoke emission in the transient state. |
