PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary electric machine that can guide cooling wind toward an output shaft while flexibly coping with a change in a structure of an outer peripheral part of a housing.SOLUTION: The rotary electric machine comprises: a housing; a stator attached to the housing; a rotator to be rotated by a rotating magnetic field; a rotary shaft that serves as an output shaft by protrusion of one end thereof to be rotated accompanying rotation of the rotator from the housing; a bearing that is provided in the housing and supports the rotary shaft; a cooling fan that is provided outside the housing near an opposite side of the output shaft; and a pedestal for a terminal box that is provided on an outer peripheral face of the housing and places the terminal box therein. In the outer peripheral part of the housing is provided a cover having a first face, which covers a part that extends in a rotary shaft direction on a circumference of the outer peripheral face, of the housing, on which the pedestal for the terminal box is not arranged in the rotary shaft direction, and a second face, which covers a part that is an outer peripheral part near the output shaft and extends in a radial direction of the rotator, integrally constituted. |
