<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foreign substance detecting device and a packaging machine comprising the foreign substance detecting device capable of certainly detecting interposition of a foreign substance.SOLUTION: A foreign substance detecting device seals film for packaging a packaging object on its back and forth sides in a pillow packaging step. Thereby, the foreign substance detecting device detects a foreign substance at a predetermined region to be lateral seal parts having a predetermined width. The foreign substance detecting device comprises a pair of sandwiching surfaces. The sandwiching surfaces have an equivalent width with a predetermined width of the lateral seal parts and with which the predetermined region is sandwiched. The sandwiching surfaces are arranged at upstream side of transporting direction relative to a pair of seal means. The seal means are arranged in direction orthogonal to transporting direction of film for packaging and seal a film from both sides with heat to form the lateral seal parts on the film. At least one of the sandwiching surfaces is constructed in a displaceable manner when the foreign substance is interposed at the predetermined region. The foreign substance detecting device comprises a detecting part detecting displacement of the sandwiching surfaces.</p> |
