The invention relates to a method for the depolymerization of natural rubber latex for the preparation of a modified polyisoprene mainly comprising a mixture of the species functionalized at one of the two ends thereof by one or more functional groups and the species functionalized at both ends thereof by one or more functional groups, wherein said method comprises the following steps: i) a step of adding one or more surfactants to the latex, then ii) a step of acidifying the latex to a pH below the isoelectric point of the natural rubber latex proteins by adding one or more inorganic acids to the latex, iii) a step of adding, to the latex, one or more transfer agents comprising said functional group or groups, iv) a step of adding, to the latex, one or more organic solvents selected from cyclic hydrocarbon, aromatic and linear solvents, v) a step of adding, to the latex, one or more metathesis catalysts. Each step ii) to v) is carried out simultaneously, before, or after one of steps ii) to v). The invention also relates to a modified polyisoprene latex obtainable using the aforementioned method. The invention also relates to the modified polyisoprene obtainable with this method. Lastly, the invention relates to an elastomeric composition made from one or more of the aforementioned modified polyisoprenes. |
