This invention provides a pairing apparatus that pairs first and second radio devices having a docking mechanism. Each of the first and second radio devices comprises: a pairing request detection unit that detects a pairing request; a docking detection unit that detects a docking of the first and second radio devices; and a pairing setting unit that performs a setting of pairing the first and second radio devices in response to the pairing request. The detection of the docking of the first and second radio devices using the docking mechanism causes the detected pairing request to be conveyed from one of the first and second radio devices to the other.
