The objective is to allow a terminal to be inserted into a connector cavity in a more reliable manner. The terminal insertion device inserts into the connector cavity the terminal present at an extremity of a terminated wire. A wire extremity inserter-retainer part is caused to advance toward the cavity so as to insert into the connector cavity the tip of the terminal present at the extremity of the terminated wire, which is retained by a wire extremity retaining part (fourth pinching part). Whether or not the tip of the terminal has started entering the cavity is determined, and if it is determined that the tip of the terminal has not started entering the cavity, the wire extremity inserter-retainer part is moved so as to retreat from the cavity, and then, the wire extremity inserter-retainer part is caused to advance toward the cavity again. |
