Provided is an insulated wire having: a thermosetting resin coating (A) that is, directly or with an insulating layer (C) interposed therebetween, on a conductor having a rectangular cross section; and a thermoplastic resin coating (B) on the outer periphery of the thermosetting resin coating (A). The thermoplastic resin coating (B) has at least two thermoplastic resin layers. Adjacent thermoplastic resin layers are formed from different thermoplastic resins, and at least one of the thermoplastic resin layers is formed from PEEK or modified PEEK. The total thickness of the thermoplastic resin layers is 60-120 µm, and the thickness of the thinnest thermoplastic resin layer is 5-20 µm. Further provided are a coil into which this insulated cable has been wound, and an electrical device which is formed using this coil.
