The present invention provides: a soundproofing material having excellent heat resistance; and a felt that is capable of forming the soundproofing material at low temperatures. The felt contains from 10% by mass to 90% by mass (inclusive) of unstretched thermoplastic resin fibers, while having a thickness of from 0.05 mm to 100 mm (inclusive) and an areal weight of from 50 g/m2 to 2 kg/m2 (inclusive).
