<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing apparatus which is arranged so as not to affect a width of a pressure nip, without setting an energy-saving heating body at an unnecessarily high temperature, thereby reducing power consumption, and an image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: A fixing apparatus includes: first and second rotating bodies, at least one of which is an endless belt, for fixing a toner image on a recording material at a pressure nip; and a heating body which comes into contact with the rotating body, which is the endless belt, to selectively heat an area corresponding to a toner image section at a heating nip. In a cross section orthogonal to a longitudinal direction of the heating body, a center of the heating body is displaced from the center of the pressure nip, and a width of the heating nip is larger than a width of the pressure nip.</p> |
