PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively restrict productivity decrease and running cost increase, due to a recovery operation, regardless of the type of a job.SOLUTION: In a case where a job composed of a plurality of pages is printed for more than one sets, printing in page order is alternately carried out for each set until a defect print is detected, and normal prints for each set are sorted and conveyed onto a plurality of sheet ejection trays. If a defect print is detected, the defect print is conveyed onto a disposal tray. Normal prints, which have finished printing, following the defect print are evacuated into an evacuation area. Until the same page as the defect print is reprinted, printing in page order for sets from which a defect print has not been detected is carried out. After reprinting, normal prints resulting from reprinting and normal prints evacuated in the evacuation area are conveyed to corresponding sheet ejection trays in order. Printing of remaining pages from which a defect print has not been detected and printing of pages that have not been printed yet in a part from which the defect print has been detected are alternately carried out, and the normal prints are conveyed to corresponding sheet ejection trays. |
