摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure both a detecting frequency and detecting accuracy, while restraining influence by an engine rotating speed and the temperature of lubricating oil. <P>SOLUTION: A lower area of the engine rotating speed N than an area determining threshold value Nd of regulating the relationship between the engine rotating speed and the oil temperature by a linear expression of a primary relation, is set as a diagnostic area RB of imparting a correlation between the oil temperature and the engine rotating speed, in a range of T1-T2' (T2'<T2) in the oil temperature, to a diagnostic area RA set in a rectangular shape with the engine rotating speed and the oil temperature as an independent variable, in a range of the engine rotating speed N1-N2 and the oil temperature T1-T2, on a two-dimensional plane with the oil temperature T as the axis of ordinate and the engine rotating speed as the axis of abscissa. Thus, oil quantity abnormality can be surely detected by securing a diagnostic frequency in a normal use area of medium-high rotation/the medium high oil temperature without performing a diagnosis in a low oil temperature/high rotation area being high in the possibility of causing erroneous detection. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p>
