The object of the present invention is to provide an apparatus and method for detecting and correcting a distortion of an image provided for a vehicle. To this end, the apparatus for correcting a distortion in a vehicle, according to an embodiment of the present invention, comprises: an image acquisition unit for acquiring an image including a predetermined pattern; a feature point extraction unit for projecting the acquired image onto a reference pattern including at least one reference feature point, and extracting feature points corresponding to each other from the reference pattern and the predetermined pattern of the acquired image; a determination unit for comparing the feature points of the reference pattern and the feature points of the acquired image to calculate a displacement difference between the feature points, and determining a degree of a distortion of the acquired image based on the calculated displacement difference; and a correction unit for moving the feature points of the acquired image to a predetermined position based on the displacement difference so as to correct the image, wherein the reference pattern has a size larger than the acquired image. |
