<p>The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for detecting a fake note using a laser. The apparatus for detecting a fake note according to the present invention includes: an insertion sensor which senses the insertion of a note; a laser emitting unit which emits an infrared ray (IR) on the note when the insertion sensor senses the insertion of the note; a light receiving unit which senses a visible ray generated by an optical transition phenomenon occurring through the IR ray which the laser emitting unit emits; a measuring unit which measures a voltage or a current corresponding to the size of the visible ray sensed through the light receiving unit, and determines whether or not the note is a fake; and a control unit which controls the sensor and a comprising unit.</p> |
