Thermosetting coating system, method for its manufacture and application of same

Thermosettable coating system comprises (a) a binding agent containing at least one polyester and/or a co-polyester, (b) at least one crosslinker, (c) at least one co-polyester having a melting point of 80-150[deg] C, measured according to ISO 11357, which is different from the co-polyester of (a), and optionally (d) at least one additive. An independent claim are also included for: (1) producing the above mentioned coating system, comprising mixing into a melt at 100-170[deg] C, grinding the above mentioned components and sieving to obtain a particle size of less than 100 mu m, preferably of less than 80 mu m; (2) forming a protective layer comprising the coating system, comprising applying the coating composition on a surface of an object to be coated by whirl sintering and/or electrostatic coating, and thermally hardening; and (3) the protective layer producible by the above method.
