<p>A smoothly opening and closing trash can with a foot pedal opens when a user steps on a foot pedal and stays closed when a user does not step on a foot pedal using two permanent magnets having the nature of moving from N-pole to S-pole when N- pole of one magnet is placed close to N-pole of the other magnet while S-pole is left unaffected. A round shaped permanent 90-degree angled magnet formed on a lid brace of the trash can moves front and back by a cam in reaction to N-pole or S-pole of a permanent magnet attached to a slave body with the nature of a magnet moving from N-pole to S-pole when N-pole of the other magnet comes close to N-pole while the S-pole is left unaffected when a user steps on a foot pedal and when the permanent magnet moves front and back by the cam when a foot pedal is pressed, the cam is connected by a number of connecting rods, which are supported by a hole at the center of a supporting rod formed on the body of the trash can. The up-down motion of the connecting rod upon pressure on the foot pedal triggers the up-down motion of the cam, which is then converted into the front-back motion of the permanent magnet formed integral to the slave body.</p> |
