A method for setting a pattern lock by outputting a security degree of a pattern lock comprises: a step where a temporary pattern for a pattern lock is entered to a touch panel of a mobile terminal; a step where the mobile terminal calculates a security degree of the temporary pattern; a step where the mobile terminal outputs the security degree to a display device by a certain method; and a step where the mobile terminal receives a command to set the temporary pattern as a final pattern for the pattern lock.
