The present invention relates to a method for guaranteeing the reliability of an operating system installed in a vehicle and, more specifically, relates to a method for recovering a vehicle operating system and an apparatus using the same to rapidly recover the error of the operating system caused by contents installed by a user to guarantee the normal operation of the vehicle. According to an embodiment of the present invention, a system for driving the vehicle operating system comprises: a first image to allow the access and modification of users; a second image to disallow the access and modification of users; an error determination/recovery part to determine the error of the operating system recorded in the first image to recover the first image using the second image when an error occurs; and a booting control part to boot an operating system recorded in the first or second image in accordance with the error of the operating system recorded in the first image and determined by the error determination/recovery part in accordance with a booting command.
