DIRECT METHANOL FUEL CELL SYSTEM AND COOLING METHOD THEREOF

The present invention discloses a fuel cell system directly using methanol as a fuel and a cooling method thereof. The fuel cell system includes: a fuel tank storing the methanol fuel; a stack which receives the methanol solution and oxygen to initiate a chemical reaction and generate electricity accordingly and discharges the byproducts of the chemical reaction and unreacted fuel; a buffer tank which temporally stores the byproducts of the chemical reaction and the unreacted fuel discharged from the stack and separates the substances into a liquid and a gas; multiple coolers which receive the liquid and gas separated from the buffer tank respectively to cool the gas and liquid; and a gas-liquid separator which receives the byproducts of the chemical reaction and the unreacted fuel cooled in the coolers and the methanol fuel from the fuel tank, separates the received substances, discharges the carbon dioxide being a byproduct of the chemical reaction, and supplies the aqueous methanol solution being another byproduct of the chemical reaction to the stack.
