The invention relates to a device for treating water loaded with hydrocarbons, comprising: an enclosure (2); a shaft (3) which is rotatably mounted in said enclosure; and cartridges (4) of sorbent material, which are rotatably connected to said shaft. Said device can assume a static position wherein the loaded water can be filtered by the cartridges, and a centrifuging position wherein the shaft drives the cartridges in rotation and wherein the hydrocarbons are released by the cartridges as a result of the centrifugal force.
