PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication device which notifies a display device that an error related to CEC (Consumer Electronics Control) command transmission has been detected. ! SOLUTION: A communication device includes: communication means for receiving a command from an external device according to a predetermined protocol; detection means for performing processing for detecting an error related to communication with the external device; and control means for making the communication means transmit a second command for notifying the external device of an error detected by the detection means, after the detection means detects the error while a first command is being received by the external device by the communication means. !
