PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an upward continuous casting method capable of improving productivity.SOLUTION: An upward continuous casting method according to the present invention is an upward continuous casting method for producing a casting M3 formed into a predetermined shape by pulling up molten metal M1 held in a holding furnace 10, includes: a step of introducing a hollow member 11 for pulling up the molten metal M1 into the molten metal M1; and a step of supplying inert gas into the hollow member 11 so that the inert gas flows in the molten metal M1. After stopping flow of the inert gas into the molten metal M1, the molten metal M1 as well as the hollow member 11 is pulled up and a molding M3 is formed.
