摘要 A linear motor of the present invention comprises: a trajectory member extending in a movement direction and having magnets; and a movable body laid on the trajectory member in a movable manner and having coils. In the linear motor, current is conducted through the coils to generate a movement direction thrust between the coils and the magnets. In the linear motor, a method for deriving a thrust constant representing the generation ratio of thrust to current comprises the steps of: deriving, based on an actual measurement, an average thrust constant that is the thrust constant averaged in a long movement zone on the trajectory member; deriving, based on respective actual measurements, local thrust constants that are the thrust constants locally obtained at a plurality of places on the trajectory member; and deriving, based on the average thrust constant and the local thrust constants at the respective places, a thrust constant at an arbitrary position on the trajectory member. This makes it possible to enhance the accuracy of deriving a thrust constant on the basis of actual measurements under a plurality of actual measurement conditions as compared with a conventional method.
