PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device capable of suppressing an image shift for each scanning unit and a method for controlling the image display device.SOLUTION: An image display device 100 includes an RGB laser diode 200 outputting laser light, a horizontal scanner 220 reflecting the laser light and reciprocated in a horizontal direction, a scanning detection part 202 detecting an operation range for each line in the horizontal direction, a drawing position control part 116 determining an image display position for each line, based on a deviation between the detected operation range and a line reference value, and a laser driver 140 driving the RGB laser diode 200, based on image data, at timing corresponding to the determined image display position. |
