PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To elongate the service life of a molten metal receiver by improving durability to slag at the slag line part of the molten metal receiver. ! SOLUTION: In a molten metal receiver which receives a molten metal and where a body part 11a contacting with the molten metal is made of a monolithic refractory,: a shaped refractory 11b is disposed to be buried in the body part 11a so that the surface of the shaped refractory 11b is exposed at a portion contacting with the slag; and the side face of the shaped refractory 11b has at least one of a tapered shape enlarging from a front face toward a rear face and an irregularity part. !
