PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing method for solving the problems, such as fixing white voids, and scattering and tailing of toner caused by minute unevenness in a temperature distribution of a fixing device, achieving high in-plane uniformity of the density of solid images, and preventing image defects, such as scattering and tailing of toner in line images. ! SOLUTION: There is used a fixing device in which the magnetic resistance of a core is 30% or less of the composite magnetic resistance of the magnetic resistance of a conductive layer and the magnetic resistance of an area between the conductive layer and the core, in a section from one end to the other end of a maximum passage area of an image on a recording material.
