The present invention uses control devices to reduce a retrieval load of a transfer database and decrease the amount of information to be accumulated in the transfer database. This network system comprising switches and links that connect the switches to one another comprises: a plurality of first control devices which, when the network system has been divided into a plurality of first domains, are provided to the first domains and control the switches included in the first domains; and a second control device that is provided to a second domain in which the plurality of first domains have been aggregated, said second control device controlling the plurality of first control devices. The plurality of first control devices have databases which associate and hold: addresses of terminals; and identifiers of switch ports that accommodate the terminals. If a frame for which a path is not set is received from a switch included in the receiving domain itself, it is determined whether the problem of a frame transfer destination switch port can be solved on the basis of the database. If the problem cannot be solved, unset frame information that includes the identifier of the receiving domain itself as an originating domain identifier and includes the frame is transferred to the second control device. |
