[Problem] To provide a film which comprises a polyvinyl alcohol, the film being less prone to take a color upon heating and being excellent in terms of the dispersed state of a surfactant in cases when the surfactant is contained. [Solution] A film which comprises a polyvinyl alcohol having a degree of saponification of 50-99.99 mol% and a viscosity-average degree of polymerization of 200-5,000 and in which the content of a carboxylic acid alkali metal salt is 0.5 mass% or less in terms of the mass of the alkali metal. When the polyvinyl alcohol heated at 120°C for 3 hours is analyzed by gel permeation chromatography, a peak-top molecular weight (A) determined with a differential refractometer and a peak-top molecular weight (B) determined with an absorptiometer (measurement wavelength, 280 nm) satisfy the following relationship (1) (A-B)/A<0.75 (1) and the absorbance for the peak-top molecular weight (B) is 0.25×10-3 to 3.00×10-3.
|
