摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface substrate for a thermal transfer image-receiving sheet, which allows formation of a high-quality image on a receiving layer even when the substrate is made thin to suppress curling, and a thermal transfer image-receiving sheet having the surface substrate for a thermal transfer image-receiving sheet.SOLUTION: The surface substrate for a thermal transfer image-receiving sheet is disposed between a support of a thermal transfer image-receiving sheet and a receiving layer, and has a multilayer structure including a surface layer 3 formed on one surface of a base layer 2 and a back layer 1 formed on the other surface of the base layer. The base layer 2 comprises (A) a propylene polymer, (B) calcium carbonate, and (C) titanium oxide; and when the total mass of (A), (B) and (C) is set to 100 mass%, (A) is included by 70 mass% or more and 94.5 mass% or less, (B) is included by 5 mass% or more and 28 mass% or less, and (C) is included by 0.5 mass% or more and less than 3 mass%. The surface layer 3 comprises a modified propylene polymer, and the back layer 1 comprises a propylene polymer.
