PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform monitoring evaluation having high reliability with respect to pipes during operation of a plant while providing lifetime evaluation having high accuracy regardless of kinds of the pipes. ! SOLUTION: A lifetime evaluation method for evaluating a plurality of pipes 2 through 4 installed in a chemical plant comprises the steps of: measuring a strain amount in a circumferential direction of each of the plurality of pipes 2 through 4 during plant operation by a strain gauge bonded to each of the pipes 2 through 4 and monitoring the strain amount of each thereof; associating monitoring results with a correlation curve between a swelling rate and a life consumption rate of each of the pipes 2 through 4 and estimating a first residual life of each of the pipes 2 through 4; periodically measuring and monitoring a temperature of each of the pipes 2 through 4 during the plant operation by a temperature sensor mounted to each of the pipes 2 through 4; estimating a second residual life |
