PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader which inhibits swinging caused by movement of an image reader unit and thereby inhibits the deterioration of the image reading accuracy even with a narrow guide rail.SOLUTION: An image reader includes: a guide rail 41 which guides movement of an image reader unit in a sub-scanning direction; and an adhesion rib 44 which has an adhesion surface 44a facing the guide rail 41 through a gap G and fixes the guide rail 41 by an adhesive applied to the adhesion surface 44a. Thus, the image reader unit prevents swinging caused by movement of the image reader unit in a lateral direction and a vertical direction even if the guide rail is narrow and thereby reads images with high accuracy. |
